Ingredients

What you need:

  • 1 package of non-scented Maxi Pads

  • 4-6 oz Witch Hazel (non-alcohol)

  • 1 Tbsp. Aloe Vera Gel (pure, not colored)

  • 2-3 drops of Lavender Essential Oil (optional)

  • 4-6 oz travel-sized spray bottle

  • Spoon

  • 1-2 Freezer Bags

Preparation

Step 1

Sanitize the space you will be using to make your padsicles and gather all of your supplies. Wash your hands before beginning.

Step 2

Open each Maxi Pad but leave it attached to its wrapper. Make sure not to expose the adhesive on the wing tabs.

Step 3

Add 1 tbsp of the Aloe Vera gel to the entire length of the pad, using a spoon to smear it. You do not need to add it to the wings.

Step 4

Add the witch hazel and essential oil to the spray bottle. Spray mixture all over the pad until it's damp but not dripping wet.

Step 5

Refold the pad into its original wrapper and insert the padsicle into a freezer bag. You can fit several padsicles into a gallon size freezer bag.

Step 6

Store padsicles in the freezer and use within the first 2-3 days after giving birth. Remove one pad from the freezer at a time and allow to thaw for 1-2 minutes before applying padsicle into your underwear. Use until no longer cool or until you need to change your pad (3-4 hours max).
