Hi, I'm Nikki

I began my journey as an Early Childhood Educator, where I found joy in nurturing young children and building meaningful relationships with their families. Today, as a Postpartum Doula, I walk alongside parents through the raw and beautiful beginnings of early parenthood—and well beyond—helping them navigate the emotional, physical, and relational transitions with compassionate care, grounded support, and connection when it’s needed most.

After becoming a parent myself, I felt called to support families beyond the classroom.  I saw firsthand how new parents are left to navigate postpartum without the care and support they truly need.  New families are expected to do it all and "bounce back"—all while trying to heal, learn, and adjust to an entirely new life. Postpartum support offers the practical care, gentle encouragement, and the compassionate presence that new parents often go without.  Doula training helped me step fully into my purpose: to offer care, connection, and practical tools to support  families during their postpartum journey.

My work brings together my passions—nurturing families, supporting perinatal mental health, healing through nutrition, and teaching. It’s an honor to walk alongside parents and providers in this sacred work. When I’m not serving clients or advocating for better perinatal care, you’ll find me in the kitchen with my kids, reading a good book, or exploring the beauty of the Sonoran Desert with our dogs.

Philosophy & Mission Statement

Why "Swaying Saguaro"?

It is believed that the Saguaro is looked upon as a spirit helper and its blossoms help us understand and trust our inner wisdom. Saguaros can be used medicinally, as they restore the body during an ailment.  They also represent parental love and care.

Saguaros can survive in harsh conditions, and because of this, they are a symbol of unconditional love. A parent's love is strong and enduring just like a Saguaro!

The "swaying" part of Swaying Saguaro was chosen because of the slow swaying movement most parents innately engage in to soothe their baby.

The Saguaro encompasses my philosophy as a Postpartum Doula and as a parent, symbolizing many aspects of strength, community and resilience.

As a Postpartum Doula, my goal is to foster a comfortable environment where every client feels safe, supported and nurtured. I will do this by:

  • Keeping all lines of communication open and being transparent during our time together, fostering trust and consistency within our relationship.

  • Offering an informed and compassionate experience through parent education, advocacy, and unwavering support.

  • Using inclusive language and showing respect for all, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, or disability.

  • Providing equitable support to families that need to utilize a sliding scale system.

Mission Statement:

I strive to empower families in Tucson by providing Adaptive Postpartum Support™ services by:

  • Educating new parents on topics such as breast/chest/bottle feeding, infant care, and perinatal mental health through parent education classes and individualized support.

  • Nourishing the physical and emotional well-being of parents through healthy meal preparation, self-care guidance, and stress management techniques.

  • Empowering parents to confidently navigate the challenges of early parenthood by fostering a supportive environment and building confidence in their parenting abilities.

  • Advocating for and working towards improving maternal and infant health outcomes by raising awareness around the incidence of PMADs and how they affect families.

Every birth story is unique and my role is to honor and support each family in their personal journey. I look forward to serving you!
