About the Doula

My work began in early childhood education, where I came to believe that caring for children also meant caring about the well-being of the whole family. Parenthood deepened that belief and inspired me to extend my work beyond the classroom, supporting families through the profound—yet often unseen—transition into postpartum life.

As a postpartum doula and educator, I offer steady, compassionate support for families navigating the emotional, physical, and relational changes of early parenthood. I focus on listening deeply, honoring each family’s values and choices, and providing practical care, education, and connection to community resources.

I look forward to supporting you and your family as you move through your parenthood journey!

Philosophy & Mission Statement

The Story Behind the Name
"Swaying Saguaro"

The saguaro cactus is often regarded as a spirit helper, with its blossoms reminding us to trust our inner wisdom. Traditionally used to help restore the body during times of illness or transition, the saguaro also stands as a symbol of parental love and care. Enduring some of the harshest environmental conditions, it reflects unconditional love—strong, steady, and resilient—much like the love a parent offers their child.

The “swaying” in Swaying Saguaro speaks to the gentle, rhythmic movement many parents instinctively use to soothe and comfort their baby. This slow, grounding motion reflects presence, attunement, and connection.

The Saguaro encompasses my philosophy as a Postpartum Doula and as a parent, symbolizing many aspects of strength, community and resilience.

As a Postpartum Doula, my goal is to foster a comfortable environment where every client feels safe, supported and nurtured. I will do this by:

  • Keeping all lines of communication open and being transparent during our time together, fostering trust and consistency within our relationship.

  • Offering an informed and compassionate experience through parent education, advocacy, and unwavering support.

  • Using inclusive language and showing respect for all, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, or disability.

  • Providing equitable support to families that need to utilize a sliding scale system.

Mission Statement:

I strive to empower families in Tucson by providing Adaptive Postpartum Support™ services by:

  • Educating new parents on topics such as breast/chest/bottle feeding, infant care, and perinatal mental health through parent education classes and individualized support.

  • Nourishing the physical and emotional well-being of parents through healthy meal preparation, self-care guidance, and stress management techniques.

  • Empowering parents to confidently navigate the challenges of early parenthood by fostering a supportive environment and building confidence in their parenting abilities.

  • Advocating for and working towards improving maternal and infant health outcomes by raising awareness around the incidence of PMADs and how they affect families.

Every birth story is unique and my role is to honor and support each family in their personal journey. I look forward to serving you!
